No Place To Hide
Award-Winning Journalist Robert O’Harrow goes behind the scenes of our emerging surveillance society in his book, No Place To Hide, and examines how private companies and the government are working together to collect massive amounts of data on citizens.
“…The
details about our lives are no longer our own.” O’Harrow was interviewed recently on “Democracy Now!”

I watched the interview. I think people either don’t think this type of thing is really happening, or they think they have nothing to hide, so what’s the big deal. I used to think the latter, that I am a good citizen, so it probably won’t affect me. After thinking about this a while, and seeing how those in power tend to behave, I realized this is not okay. What I think as harmless, someone in power may think as really threatening. I know that the technology is not there yet to deal with these billions of pieces of data. However, there is a ton of effort going into figuring out how to filter through all this data. In the meantime, piles of data are being stored for when that technology finally is invented. My liberty dies if I can’t do things in private, and I am not okay with that!

This design is steller! You certainly know how to keep a reader amused. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Fantastic job. I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
