Mass Iraq War Protest - Pictures From Los Angeles
March 18, 2006
Question of the day, although it's pretty rhetorical at this point.
This is what we saw upon arriving at the march. Coming out of the subway station, police officers keeping a watchful eye. Do you think they were trying to set a tone or what?
Everybody gathering, getting ready to march. Once again, a huge crowd of peaceful people wanting a better life for everybody.
Yeah, a simple thought, but very meaningful.
Yep.
I climbed up on top of the nearby building in time to get this birds eye view of the crowd at the final staging area.
This huge sign was on a building behind the main stage at the end of the march. Hmmmmmm.
This gets the honors for funniest sign.
This was a warm moment: police taking peoples signs apart because the wood holding it up is "more than a quarter inch thick." You can see the thickness, they are at most half an inch thick. Like I said before, they were just setting the tone. As in, don't fuck up or you are going to jail.
Last year I took a picture of this building, wondering about the significance of this protest walking by the social security office which Bush wanted to give away to Wall Street at the time. Well, one year later, the office now has plywood on the windows.
There was a huge group of coffins draped in the U.S. flag to symbolize all the dead soldiers...
...and in front of them were a huge group of coffins draped in black cloth represting the 100,000-250,000 Iraqi civilians dead.
Old and young out in full force
Maybe one day he and Kissinger will share a cell.
I've heard this one before, but its worth repeating since the man is so glaringly dumb.
Police protecting who??
Damn right!
